Thinking About Volunteering?
The Warrington Fire Department is always looking to increase our staffing, whether it be thru firefighting, office work or associate member. This is a great way to support the volunteer system and support your community. If you ever thought about becoming a firefighter, now is your chance to make it happen. We are looking for people from a wide range in age and background. Regardless of the location of your residence within the township, we encourage you to explore the membership at one of our two stations.

Once completed, bring your application to the main station located at Freedoms Way and Rt. 611 any Tuesday night between 6:30pm and 7:00pm. Minimum Qualifications for Probationary firefighters:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Pennsylvania driver license or be eligible for a Pennsylvania driver license.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Pass a thorough background investigation.
- Pass a Criminal History Check.
- Pass a Motor Vehicle Driver's Record Check.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
- Be of good character and reputation.
- Reside within set geographical boundaries.
Junior firefighter applicants must be 16 years old, a written acknowledgment from his/her parent-guardian and a copy of working papers.
Time Commitment & Training:
Being a volunteer firefighter involves a greater time commitment than many applicants may first realize. There is an extensive time commitment during the first year. Primarily during the first 6 months of the probationary period. A new firefighter must be able to make the following time commitments:
- Basic Firefighter Training.
- Drills held on Tuesday nights and an occasional Saturday.
Newly admitted probationary firefighters are required to attend within the first year a One Hundred Forty-Six (146) hour firefighter 1 course. The firefighter 1 course is taught at the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center in Doylestown Township. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the NFPA Firefighter 1 certification. The Firefighter 1 program teaches basic firefighting skills with an emphasis on safe practices in an emergency environment. Successful completion of the Academy is mandatory.
Warrington Fire Department partakes in training every Tuesday night. The second Tuesday night of each month is the department monthly meeting.
